Cara Johnston is an actor and emerging playwright originally from Dallas, Texas. Her plays The Little Glass Slipper as Performed by the Queen of France and Her Friends and The Madwoman premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, earning five-star reviews, an OffFest nomination, and an official selection for Frame of Mind, airing on PBS. Her play Great White Throne was a Tennessee Williams One-Act Play Finalist and will be produced in Renaissance Theaterworks’ 26–27 season. Cara’s writing blends humor and heartbreak, with a focus on creating emotionally complex roles for women.

As an actor, she has performed at theatres in Texas, Louisiana, Wisconsin and Scotland, with favorite roles including Cherie in Bus Stop and the title role in 
Medea

Cara often finds her inspiration deep in the archives of Wikipedia and through collaboration with her sister.
